Personal History:
Vegeta’s history via the DBWiki.
Empathias: Vegeta’s early time in Verens was spent in equal parts raging over the fact his normally heavily hidden emotions were on display for everyone to see, and stubbornly trying to push through the strength cap that had been placed on him, convinced he could be the first to break through it where others had given up. As time progressed he came to an unhappy acceptance that not only was he to be without his transformations into Super Saiyan and above, but that the strength restrictions would not allow him to train how he normally would, even after Bulma had built him a new Gravity Room to train in. After this he began focusing his training on improving flaws in his current fighting style and trying to continue the lessons of Whis to try and work towards Ultra Instinct.

As he began to settle in to this new world he became involved in many of the world’s events, either willingly or being dragged into the ongoing disasters or events, the majority of them which would force a range of emotions onto the inhabitants or dealing with monsters that would attack the citizens. Part of this also included Vegeta taking up jobs, as unlike on Earth they didn’t have the Briefs’ money to rely on. He typically preferring to take on bounties against a range of monsters that terrorized different parts of the world, welcoming the chance to fight against a range of opponents.

During his time there he also saw several people come and go, including both his son and wife, as well as a number of individuals he gained at least a pleasant enough standing with to not be instantly irritated by them. Just occasionally irritated. Many of these were those who reached out in regards to training and fighting, but also from being placed on teams together to deal with the more difficult disasters as they arose.

Personality:
Pride: Vegeta’s life is dominated by his pride, it is the most important part of himself and the strongest aspect behind molding his history and personality. This ultimately stems from his heritage as a Saiyan and their reputation as fighters, as well as his royal position as prince and being an elite fighter. However it is an aspect that has been strengthened the more he has faced strife and aggression, doubling down on it and using it as a form of coping to power through any difficulties that get in his way.
While this aided in a neglected childhood, slavery under Frieza, and moments of self-doubt, it however did enforce more negative traits; making him over confident, an over inflated ego, and recklessness that has endangered his life a number of times. Yet it is this pride that allows Vegeta to keep moving forward, to keep pushing himself to get better.

Lone Wolf: From a young age Vegeta has pretty much been alone, ignored by his father and isolating himself to form his own fighting style without tutorial from others. This had been played off as a positive, that he was a prodigy, not needing help to raise himself to become the strongest Saiyan known at the time. This is a habit that has persisted for the most throughout his life, even with working with other Saiyans under Freiza’s rule. While able to work with them, he held very little connection to them, even killing Nappa out of anger despite being around him for most of his life.
This pattern of being alone has made it so Vegeta is highly self-reliant and is comfortable with longer periods of isolation and a lack of interaction, able to spend time alone in both space and during training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. However it has made it so he wants to be able to solve every problem alone, has difficulty admitting he needs help, and can be incredibly selfish at times, even to those closest to him. This has continued on through his time on Earth, focusing mainly on solo training with the use of the Gravity Room or occasional use of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Yet with time he has learned to work together and play better with others, either alongside other fighters such as Goku, or as a husband to Bulma and a father to his children.

Growth: Despite his violent early life, his selfishness to be the best no matter what, and seeing others as below him, Vegeta has matured greatly over the years. While he still comes off as permanently angry and disinterested in many matters at first, those closest to him have seen how he has become much more tolerant, willing to work with others, and caring for those around him and not just about himself. This has allowed Vegeta to also open up to other sides of his personality rather than being just a Prince or a killer, developing his humor, growing as a father and husband, and as a friend.

There has been a number of people who have helped him to achieve this over the years, including:
Goku: As much as he would hate to admit it, Goku has had possibly the largest impact on Vegeta’s life, firstly by stopping Krillin from killing him at his first defeat on Earth. However it was this first encounter that would help mold a large chunk of Vegeta’s life to come; to put him in a constant fight to become stronger than Goku, firstly as an enemy, then in a friendly rivalry. They have forged a bizarre friendship, constantly trying to one up each other in training and battle, but also gaining mutual respect for what the other is capable of. This is particularly for Vegeta, who had looked down on Goku or seen him as only an obstacle, but with the ongoing struggles to keep Earth safe he has recognized and even admired what the other Saiyan was capable of doing. This is evident in upon many of their battles that have required Goku to deliver the final blow, that despite earlier bickering of who will fight who, who’s turn it was to fight, Vegeta is able to accept when it gets serious that Goku is extremely capable fighter that they need to save the day; more recently seen in the Tournament of Power against Jiren, or willing to step back and let Goku have a turn fighting Broly.
Goku’s persistence has made it through Vegeta’s anger, attitude, and sometimes physical violence against him, able to brush it off with a laugh or maybe a whine about the Prince being too rough. Having not backed down when faced with this has made it for Vegeta has had to learn a high level of tolerance rather than just solving his issues with a ki blast, learning that Goku really has no alternative motives other than just being his friend. It’s even allowed Vegeta moments to open up honestly to Goku, talking about their wives or other elements of normal life outside of training, and even some moments of fun, such as playing rock/paper/scissors to decide who fights first.

Bulma: Starting off as little more than another number that could be added to his list of kills, upon leaving Namek Bulma quickly established that despite Vegeta’s history with Earth that she was capable of tolerating and handing back that attitude of his without fear of angering him. Or at least ignoring his moments of tantrum. It quickly developed that she was one of the few people to talk to him as if he was an equal, not scared of him nor talking down to him. It’s partly this that first drew his attention to her as more than just a place to stay and a person to repair the Gravity Machine, amused by her own fiery temper and ‘I do what I want’ attitude that was similar to his own.
However, while he still is around in her life, it’s not until facing off with Buu that Vegeta really starts to show a level of emotional attachment to her, a concern about keeping her and Trunks safe, and sacrificing himself to try and kill Buu. This is enforced again upon hearing of her death at the hands of Buu, it used as a trigger to convince him to fuse with Goku. This level of protectiveness and wanting to keep her safe has only increased over the years, even allowing him to take on Beerus, a person who had him terrified and fearful of, upon the God slapping Bulma.
Yet despite their improving relationship and increased closeness, he still appears surprised at her concern for him, shocked at her and Trunks’ reaction upon seeing him alive again after Buu, and more recently upon returning from the future with the older Trunks. Bulma has been a strong influence in allowing Vegeta to gain a softer side, to care for others, making him learn to relax rather than just fighting all the time by making him take time off for holidays, and even using her own anger to act as a threat to get him involved in his children’s lives. While they still quarrel with each other, these are typically short lived, even if explosive at times, able to quickly move on from disagreements and see eye to eye again about the majority of things.

Future Trunks: While initially shocked to discover that Trunks was his son, it quickly turned dismissive, having no interest and seeing him as more a hindrance at the best, a trigger for anger at the worse. Even their time within the Hyperbolic Time Chamber together seemed to have little change on Vegeta’s tolerance for Trunks at first, though there started to be signs of Vegeta appreciating and even taking pride in his future son’s abilities to fight. This came to a peak upon Cell killing Trunks, Vegeta going into a full rage at the sight and sudden fact that he had just seen his son killed. By the time events had wrapped up, he had even been around to say goodbye to Trunks before he had left back to his own time.
With Trunks’ return once again from the future Vegeta had already started to fit into the role of father better, being happy to see Trunks again and showing concern for what was happening in his future time. Vegeta clearly showed pride in both hearing what Trunks had managed to do in the future, as well as seeing Trunks spar with Goku (though angered at Goku playing dirty to win) and seeing how far he had come since he last saw him. Returning to the future with him and Goku, there is a number of times where Vegeta places himself in the way of damage to protect Trunks and Mai, making sure they can get away safely or to help out Goku while he drew the attention of their enemy.
At the second set of goodbyes as Trunks returned to another part of the future, Vegeta scolds Goku’s complaints about Trunks not keeping his ability to heal, telling him he is setting his own path and making his own choices. Though sad to see him leave, Vegeta reminds Trunks to keep up his training and to keep improving, watching him leave with a smile.

Trunks and Bulla: The time with Trunks from the future and seeing what his son was capable of, and learning what he had to fight against, had made it so Vegeta started taking a more active role in young Trunks’ life. While this was mainly in the lines of training him so he could face any future problems, there is almost moments of him acting as a father as well, including taking him the park to play (even if this was done as bribery). Trunks was also one of the main reasons behind Vegeta’s act of self-sacrifice to kill Buu. It was during his goodbye that he admitted he hadn’t been as good a father as he should had been, and entrusting Trunks to look after Bulma for him once he was gone. Post Buu he continued to play an active role in Trunks’ life, even being less heavy on his training and allowing him to be more of a kid, focusing on schooling and fun with his friends, even taking time to get involved in his son’s interest with playing video games.
This practice at being a more involved father helped prepare him for the arrival of their second child, Bulla. Wanting to be there for her birth (though this was later advanced due to the time limit of the Tournament of Power), he’s surprisingly happy to find out she was a girl, becoming protective over her around others that may upset her or treat her poorly. By the time he and Goku had to go and face off with Broly, Bulla is comfortably settled in to the family, able to ignore when he and Bulma have minor spats, and even entrusting Beerus to look after her and keep her safe.

Other Z fighters: Vegeta’s general attitude has also changed with all those he had once come to kill on Earth; going from potential targets, to tolerating them, to actually consider them allies and friends, able to smile and enjoy time around them as well as talk about their abilities to fight against potential threats. This even includes the likes of #18, #17, and Buu, those that had once been enemies and dangers to the planet.

CRAU developments:
There were two key developments for Vegeta during his time in Verens; dealing with his limited powers, and with the world putting his emotions on display.

Vegeta had an ongoing struggle to deal with both the limitations place on his strength and his ability to transform. His first instincts and practices were to find a way to push through these restrictions, to train harder and better with the arrogance that he could break through as he has done so many other times. Yet as time went on he came to realize this was not possible for a number of reasons, and while angered and dejected at first, he was able to switch his paths to focus on other aspects of training; to work on improving his techniques and to focus on trying lessons given to him by Whis. Training that didn’t aim for increased strength but improvement of skill. This is something that still frustrated him at times, too set into habit of being able to push through a barrier by training harder and faster, and learning to slow down and accept this was out of his control, but to focus on what he could do to improve himself instead.

For a person who keeps his emotions very hidden, bar anger, being placed in a world which puts them on display in such strong and evident ways was a constant struggle for Vegeta to endure. With both the forced emotions from events of the world, and just his own naturally occurring ones, Vegeta was forced both to face a constant reminder to himself, but to also have others see what he was feeling despite not displaying it on his face or via his actions. Verens made it impossible for him to hide behind his normal demeanour and have to just deal with the consequences of others seeing how things affected him. He didn’t like it, but he learned to tolerate it to the best of his abilities and take the jokes that were aimed at him now and then on just what he was feeling when, and the manner in which the world showed them.

Key themes:
To be the best. To protect what’s important to him. To make up for past sins.

Main Motivation:
Living his life on his own terms.

Skills:
Saiyan physiology: Vegeta’s Saiyan blood not only gives him enhanced strength, speed, endurance, and resistance to physical injury well above that of humans and many other alien races, but the seeming unlimited chance to increase all of these through ongoing training. This is strongest seen when a Saiyan has a near death experience, the following recovery from it causing a spike in all of the above attributes. This however has been capped for Vegeta in his world upon reaching Super Saiyan Blue, no longer gaining this boost and thus having to rely on his training than this tactic.
The ongoing upkeep of such bodies and energy use comes at a price, resulting in extremely large appetites and needing to take in great amounts of food. A lack of food can result in a dramatic drop in energy and performance, to an almost crippling level if left for too long.
As a Saiyan he also has the ability to survive in the extreme heights of a planet’s atmosphere, but not the vacuum of outer space. Being from a planet which had ten times the gravity of Earth, as well as training via several Gravity Machines, Vegeta is also very resilient to high levels of gravity, having trained in at least 500 times Earth’s gravity.

Martial arts: From a very young age Vegeta has trained in a range of fighting techniques, much of them self-taught and crafted. Due to the earlier nature of the Saiyans, his main style is focused with the end goal of killing a target rather than friendly sparring or as a sport, however has adapted over the years to be less bloodthirsty. This has all be honed over many years, from numerous battlefields and conquering planets, to his ongoing training using the Gravity Room, sparring with Goku, and guidance from Whis.

Ki manipulation: Vegeta demonstrates a masterful level of ki/energy manipulation, whether used as an attack or in a more practical purpose. From an aggressive side, his attacks are primarily fired via his hands/fingers, most notable ones including Galick Gun, Big Bang Attack, and Final Flash. He also commonly uses ki attacks alongside physical, enhancing his long range ability to fight, using them to pepper an enemy and apply pressure by controlling either the direction they are forced to move or altering the environment.
Other uses of this include allowing him to fly, apply a form of pressure wave to push others or himself without actually inflicting damage from the energy itself, powering up, and as an extra speed boost.

Energy sensing: Learning the technique after his first visit to Earth, Vegeta has the ability to sense energy/ki levels of other living beings. Higher ones are easier to identify and each have a unique ‘feel’ to them, making so it is possible to identify an individual by their ki. This however has limits, only able to work within a certain distance range, while other beings are able to supress their ki to make it undetectable, or have such high levels it’s impossible to even sense them.

Transformations: Through persistence and training Vegeta has been able to achieve multiple forms beyond his base one, including: Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan God, and Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Super Saiyan Blue). All of these were achieved under his own power and training, refusing the help of others aid which may otherwise be needed to reach said form (Super Saiyan God).
As a full blooded Saiyan Vegeta also use to have access to transforming into a Great Ape/Oozaru with exposure to a full moon. This however was loss after losing his tail in battle.

Fusion knowledge: Vegeta has practice and knowledge on two forms of fusion; Potara and fusion dance. Both times these have been done alongside Goku, to form Vegito (Potara) and Gogeta (Fusion). Doing so combines both of their powers, strengths, speed, and intelligence, and creates a new entity with a personality that is a mix of both people, though sometimes one can dominate more than the other. In these forms their power is greatly higher than normal, able to rival Beerus (Vegito), or easily able to deal with out of controlled Broly (Gogeta).
Fusion dance is typically limited to 30 minutes of usage, and it is possible for the fusion to be faulty (extremely overweight or extremely underweight) if the dance is not performed correctly. Potara, while originally believed to be permanently for mortals, is believed to last 60 minutes, however this can be greatly shortened if used while in high level forms (SSBlue).
